The corporate and reputational risks of organised crime
By Colin Field and David Perrit
Scottish businesses are becoming increasingly attuned to the damage that corrupt practices can cause to commerce, competitiveness and growth. The WS Financial Crime Seminar provides an essential update on policy, legislation, investigations and case-law in this area. The seminar includes a case study to demonstrate the variety of issues which arise on the infiltration of a Scottish company by financial crime. The session will be presented by Colin Field and David Perrit.
Colin Field was Head of Intelligence for Police Scotland, until his retirement from the force in 2014. He previously held the posts of Head of CID for Strathclyde Police Force and Detective Chief Superintendent. Colin is now Managing Director of Diligent World.
David Perrit is an accredited expert financial investigator, specialising in anti-money laundering. David was formerly Detective Inspector with Police Scotland’s Specialist Crime Division, with overall responsibility for financial investigation.
Colin and David’s session will cover the corporate and reputational risks of organised crime, including money laundering, cyber threat, internal fraud, corruption and bribery.
There will be drinks in Colonnades at the Signet Library as part of the event.
