The Trustees of the WS Society are delighted to announce the public opening of the Signet Library in August 2023 for an exhibition with the international artist, David Eustace, to coincide with the Edinburgh International Festival.

David Eustace is an international artist and photographer. His works have featured in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Glasgow Museum of Modern Art, Deutsche Bank Collection and City of Edinburgh Art Collection. For many years David was a masthead contributor at GQ, Vogue and Tatler, based in London and New York.  For the first time in Scotland, David will exhibit his sculpture work, including works in acrylic, steel and granite, as well as a print portfolio featuring David’s images of the statues of Père Lachaise cemetery, also unseen to date, as a collective body of work entitled ‘THEREAFTER’.

 David explains,

‘The collection will explore and ultimately respond to transition, perception, energy, change and hope.  Our perception is self determined, it is for that moment irrelevant of formula and as we view it, it can still ever be what it once was, simply by taking a step to one side or other.  It is part of a voice that often we must be incredibly quiet to listen to for it comes within us all.’

The exhibition is produced in collaboration with media partners The Times, academic partners, Edinburgh Napier University and the Fine Art Society.  We are grateful thanks to sponsors: the Times Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University, the Fine Art Society Ltd, Vialex, Midton, Balblair Distillery.
