We are delighted to invite new members to attend the next Diet of Admission at the Signet Library on Tuesday 19 May, 5.30 pm. Celebrate a milestone in your legal career by taking part in a ceremony which spans five decades!

The ceremony will be conducted by Keeper of the Signet, Lady Elish Angiolini LT KC WS in the presence of the Deputy Keeper and Trustees. 

Writers to the Signet will swear your commitment to the highest standards of integrity and excellence before the Keeper and you’ll sign your name in the Society’s historical record book that dates back to the 18th century.

Members of all categories will be awarded their Commission or membership certificate on the evening.

After the formalities, members and guests are invited to stay on for a celebratory drink reception.

Our Research Principal, James Hamilton will be giving a one-hour tour of the Signet Library’s history and member facilities immediately before the ceremony at 4.30 pm.

We would be grateful if you could advise if you would like to attend. You are very welcome to bring guests with you on the tour and to the ceremony. All ages welcome!
