The WS Society provides a leading professional development programme for Scottish lawyers. Over 1,000 lawyers participate in our annual conferences and courses, designed for lawyers by lawyers.

Practical focus

The education and training of lawyers has been central to the Society’s activities for over 200 years. The ethos of the modern programme is to combine high quality technical learning with the opportunity to interact and network with others in your sector. Conferences and courses have a practical focus, and are delivered by expert professionals from the UK and abroad. We collaborate with other professional institutions to tap into the leading speakers across a wide range of legal topics. We provide excellent legal education at each stage of the career path – from trainee solicitor to experienced practitioner.

Law Society accredited

All courses qualify as CPD and TCPD under the Law Society of Scotland’s regime. The WS Society is an authorised provider of TCPD. Events are open to all.
