An Exact List of the whole Writers to His Majesty’s Signet, January 1720, which is now displayed in the Laing Room at the Signet Library.
Since 1720, the Society has periodically produced a splendid list of current Writers to the Signet. We have recently completed an up to date list as at August 2026 and this is viewable below.
If you should spot any error or incompleteness about your own entry, or about anyone else’s, please let us know to membership@wssociety.co.uk.
Once we have collected all amendments, the list will be finalised and a poster version will be displayed behind the reception desk in the main entrance to the Signet Library.
